Stewardship, then, is not just a focus on money or material things, but also encompasses every spiritual blessing. In this study, making the most of all God

has given, Scott Pauley teaches biblical principles for Christian stewardship. One day, we will meet God

and give an account of how we have handled all of the resources he has put in our hands. Let's listen intently to learn how God

expects us to steward his resources. So much that parades under the name of Christ

is really done for man's applause. It's a facade, really, for public consumption.

And I want to remind you today that men do look on the outward appearance.

That has never changed, but don't ever forget that it is the Lord who looks on the heart.

God tries the heart. We're returning today to our Lord's accounting office,

where, frankly, the math and the accounting principles are far higher than what man is used to.

And today I want to show you one of those principles that I think is heart searching. It is this,

that the greatest work that God does in our life is the work that he does in us and through us

behind the scenes. Not where everybody can see, not so that people can patch you on the back and say,

oh, that was wonderful and you're doing so well,

but rather so that the Lord would be pleased, so that we would be, in the words of Scripture,

approved unto God. We return to 1 Corinthians chapter 4, and the first two verses say,

let a man so account of us as of the ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Moreover, it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.

Now, we've talked about this grand requirement of faithfulness, but let me give you some

thoughts from these verses today

that will help us remember that the great work is not what everybody sees

and what everybody knows, but rather it is what the Lord sees and what the Lord knows.
