Summary

In Episode #28, I spoke to one of Australia’s top DJs, DJ Tigerlily (Dara Kristen Hayes), to find out how she navigated her way through an industry that, as you can imagine, consists of a lot of drugs, alcohol, and sleepless nights. We discussed Dara’s early years, her introduction to music, and how she developed a love for DJing. She shared her insights into what it’s like working in the DJ and nightclub industry and the effect it had on her health, and she explained why she moved to a plant-based diet and how she has managed Crohn’s disease. Follow Dara on Instagram @djtigerlily. Enjoy, friends. Simon Want to support the show? The best way to support the show is to use the products and services offered by our sponsors. Health was not my priority person at all. Partying was my priority and DJing was my priority.

So yes, I definitely did get sucked in. There were a couple of years there where I was drinking

a lot of alcohol, doing quite a few drugs, quite regularly, just because I was DJing so much.

And everyone was partying and that was kind of what we did. And it was all for like it was

fun at the time, but looking back, I was really unwell, remembering the hangovers and how

tired you were and how you had to kind of back it up again and again. When I stopped

partying as much, like my career just went up and if everyone just stopped one unhealthy
